Between week five and six in the National Football League, I didn’t post a blog because I decided it was my bye week. Besides, there weren’t any outstanding performances in my book. Week six, going into week seven is undoubtedly the most interesting week so far this season. In week six, one of the two outstanding performances was the Chicago, Bears. The Bears played at Soldier Field against one of their division rivals the Minnesota, Vikings. The Bears completely, and utterly dominated the game, especially because of their defense.
The Vikings got the ball first and went a quick four, and out. The Bears then took control, and in three plays Jay Cutler threw a forty-eight yard touchdown pass to Devin Hester. Cutler would be a great back-up quarterback in any league especially if you need one because of the new quarterbacks on four teams this week. The Bears kicked off again and gave the ball to the Vikings; it was now 7 to nothing. The Vikings again were stopped by the unstoppable Bears Defense, and went four and out. The Bears got the ball but couldn’t make some damage on their drive. The Vikings got the ball back with around seven minutes left in the first quarter. The Vikings had the ball on the seven yard line and the Bears Defense rushed McNabb for a safety! The Bears D is a great pick-up if no one has them, which is unlikely because the average over twelve points a game. The safety doesn’t really matter in a game when it’s not even close, but it does more damage mentally to the other team’s offense. The Vikings then punted back to the Bears and once again they delivered with a three yard run into the endzone. The game seemed practically over at this point; it was 16 to zip, plus the Vikings are not known for their outstanding offense, or comebacks.
The Vikes reply with a little field goal. The next drive for each team comes up empty. The Vikings go four and out once again, and the Bears score with a thirteen yard pass. It was now 23 to 3. Eventually, the Bears get the ball back and score a 51 yards field goal with Robbie Gould, one of the best kickers in the game, and probably not available in most leagues. Adrian Peterson scores for the Vikings making it 26 to 10. They kick-off, and the ball is caught short on the two yard line and returned for a touchdown by Devin Hester! Devin Hester is the fire in the Bears special teams, with at least four or more runbacks this season alone! If your league allows points for running backs on special teams, then Devin Hester is a must pick-up player. The games ends after another two field goals by Robbie Gould and a silent fourth quarter. The score: 39 to 10, Bears over Vikings. Any Bears player is a good pick-up, but stay away from any wide receivers because none of them are wildly talented.
